Katarina

I was born in Slovakia and started my passion in early childhood when I told my parents I wanted to become an artist and study in art school. My professional journey with textiles began at 15 when I attended the School of Applied Arts. I learned various traditional textile techniques and crafts, from embroidery and Bobbin lace to loom weaving, with the influence of folk heritage. After SAA School, I was admitted to the Academy of Fine Art and Design, and after 6 years, I graduated with an MA diploma in Applied Art focusing on textiles. I focused on traditional textile techniques such as embroidery and bobbin lace, translated into modern materials and techniques.

I moved to the UK after graduation, and I met Chloe when I signed up for her crewel work embroidery course back in 2019.

After a few lessons and the pandemic, I started as an Apprentice in her Studio. Currently, I am being retrained in couture embroidery.  I have exhibited in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and the U.S. throughout my life.
